About
A very warm welcome to you.
My name is Jacob Rees-Mogg, I was born in 1969 and am the Conservative Party’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the newly created constituency of North East Somerset.
In my school-days, I attended Eton and then Trinity College, Oxford, where I read History.
In my working life, after spending a few years in Hong Kong, I worked in London for various financial and investment companies before setting up one of my own, Somerset Capital.
My main “hobby” is to become an MP, something in which I have some experience, as I have been a Conservative candidate in Fife (1997), then again in Surry (I lost the selection to Michael Gove), then in Shropshire (2001), I was almost a candidate in Kensington, which would have been convenient, but the selection board rejected me because I “lacked the common touch”.
Outside of politics, I like history and cricket.
I hope you enjoy this website,
Jacob Rees-Mogg
